The “A” line of the New York metropolitan area “ Take the A Train” is a jazz standard composed by Billy Strayhorn. It is inspired by the “A” line of the New York metropolitan area, which at the time led by eastern Brooklyn up to Harlem and to the northern part of Manhattan. It became the flagship piece of Duke Ellington and was often the first piece performed by Ella Fitzgerald in his concerts. Guitarist Roland Dyens has done a wonderful version for classical guitar that you can hear in the following video.
